A summary of the topics addressed in the webinar on June 21, 2023.

 

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), along with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB),the American Network for Cooperation on Electronic Health (RACSEL) and the National Center for Health Information Systems (CENS), held the Seminar "My Health Data one click away, are we ready in LAC?”, within the framework of the Convergence of Cross-Border Interoperability Initiatives for Latin America and the Caribbean LACPASS along with the OPS-DDCC.

 

The objective of this activity was to assess the advances implemented in the region for digital vaccine certificates and provide an update of the progress and future challenges in this area. Experts and representatives from de participating countries presented the progress and lessons learned as part of the regional convergence work on digital health initiatives.

 

The webinar was attended with interest by members of the digital health teams, immunization programs, public health programs, as well as other partners and relevant stakeholders associated with the use of digital health tools in public health.

 

Within the next steps to follow, he announced the progress made towards the Second version of LACPASS Connectathon, which will focus on three use cases: 1. International Patient Summary under IPS and MHD profile; 2. Global framework of trust for vaccination certificates according to the WHO-DDCC profile and finally 3. Digital identification and authentication and cryptographic issuance of vaccination certificates based on BLOCKCHAIN.
