From October 22 to 24, 2024, in Bogotá – Colombia, the third Regional Connectathon was held under the framework of the LACPASS BPR and the Pan American Health Digital Route (PH4H), a pioneering event in the health sector of Latin America and the Caribbean. This gathering will showcase the region's technical capabilities for the timely and secure exchange of clinical information, ensuring it is available whenever people need it.
The event featured the participation of national representatives from RACSEL member countries, invited countries, health authorities, information and telecommunications technology experts, international organizations, and technical teams, all gathered to foster collaboration and innovation.
The 2024 Connectathon aims to strengthen the development of the Pan American Health Digital Route (PH4H), opening new opportunities for interoperable regional health.
Connectathon Tracks
2024
The 3rd edition of the Connectathon included 2 tracks based on the enablers considered essential for the LAC region.
Track 1 – Cross-Border Continuity of Care: The goal of this track is for each participant to generate their own International Patient Summary based on the IPS-LAC profile (International Patient Summary) and make it available via VHL (Verifiable Health Link), enabling user-mediated data exchange and the mobile exchange of health documents.
Requirements: FHIR Standard, Profiles: IPS, MHD, PDQm, SVCM. LACPASS Docker.
Track 2 – Digital Vaccination Certificates: The goal of this track is for each participant to generate, interoperate, and validate a vaccination certificate based on the WHO's DVC profile. Requirements: FHIR Standard, WHO DVC, LACPASS Docker.
Resources
The third edition of the PH4H/LACPASS Connectathon was aimed exclusively at Ministries of Health, government agencies, or organizations related to Digital Health. For countries that are not part of LACPASS, this section provides access to the resources and enablers generated for the 3rd PH4H Connectathon.
